Police said a driver traveling on Fish Hatchery Road saw a person being attacked and honked, scaring the group off.

At about 12:27 a.m. Sunday, the Fitchburg Police Department received a report of a strong-arm robbery on Fish Hatchery Road.

Police said a person was walking on the 3000 block when he was approached by four people.

One of the four hit the victim and knocked him to the ground, demanding money the report said.

Police said the group fled when a motorist driving past saw the attack and started honking the car horn. The victim had minor injuries and did not seek medical treatment, the report said.

Police said the man who struck the victim was described as a black and was wearing a blue and white striped shirt. A second man was described as black and wearing a bright green shirt. Descriptions for the two other participants were not available, police said.
