Police host meeting on sex offender's release | Crime
Police will host an informational meeting about a sex offender being released into a Fitchburg neighborhood.
The Fitchburg Police Department said Frank B. Davis is scheduled to be released July 9 to live on Pike Drive.
Davis, 43, is a registered sex offender who was convicted of first-degree sexual assault including use of a dangerous weapon in 1989, according to the state Department of Corrections.
Fitchburg and Madison police along with the DOC will host a meeting at the Christian Fellowship Church, 2924 Fish Hatchery Road, on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
The DOC also said Davis was also convicted of armed burglary, resisting an officer, carrying a concealed weapon and theft in 1989. A DOC special bulletin said Davis targeted adult women. As conditions of his release, Davis is not to have unsupervised contact with minors, cannot visit bars or liquor stores and can’t drink alcohol or take drugs, authorities said.
Davis will be electronically monitored while living at 2020 Pike Drive, the DOC notice said.
The state DOC said communities and law enforcement are notified of “the release of a convicted sex offender when the release of information will enhance public safety and protection.”
According to the notice, previous criminal history indicates Davis has the potential to re-offend.
